About us

Founder & owner
Caitlin Bainbridge

My name is Caitlin, and the reason I founded CBC Education is deeply personal. As a student in year 11, I lost my confidence in maths after struggling to connect with my teacher's style. It was my own tutor who completely revolutionised my perspective and gave me the confidence to not only succeed but to go on and study maths at A-level. This experience showed me the profound impact that a supportive, personalised approach can have, and it inspired me to become a tutor myself.

Over the past 12 years, I have worked to share that passion for learning with others, including my time as a further education lecturer in a challenging college. My experience there solidified my belief that a lack of confidence can impact every aspect of a student's life, not just their grades. This ignited a passion for making a difference, which is why I founded CBC Education on the principle that a student's potential is far greater than their academic achievements. Our mission is to foster a safe space where they can grow in all aspects of their life, and to make quality tuition accessible to everyone, which is why we include means-tested fees.

My approach is comprehensive and incredibly patient. I take the time to go back to the basics, rebuilding foundational skills and ensuring every student has a solid understanding. My goal is to make subjects relatable to their wider life goals, giving them the confidence to pursue their dreams. I am still incredibly proud of every student I have worked with; seeing their individual growth and watching them achieve their goals is the most rewarding part of what I do.

English Literature Tutor
Megan Furr

Hello, I’m Megan and I tutor GCSE English Literature. I have a degree in Literature and History, and I love helping students gain a better grasp of the subject.

My goal is to help students feel more confident, capable, and (believe it or not) even enjoy the subject! I know English Lit can sometimes feel overwhelming and even like a chore but with the right approach, it doesn’t have to be so intimidating. I want to make sure students feel comfortable making mistakes, asking questions, and learning at their own speed, all while getting plenty of support and encouragement.

Whether we’re working on essay writing, exam tips, or making sense of tricky texts, I’ll make sure every session fits the students I am tutoring. My goal is to build solid foundations and break down complex ideas into something that actually makes sense. Instead of just focusing on grades, I want students to really understand the material and feel confident using the skills we work on so they can tackle whatever comes up in their exams.

Future aims

At CBC Education, our journey is guided by our passion for student growth and our commitment to making quality education accessible. As we look to the future, our vision is built on a foundation of excellence and a desire to serve an even wider community of learners.

In the short term, our focus is on expanding our expert team to offer greater availability for our popular group sessions. This allows us to welcome more students into our collaborative learning environment while maintaining our commitment to small group sizes. At the same time, we are dedicated to continuously refining our delivery, ensuring that every session we offer remains the best available.

Looking ahead, we have an ambitious vision to become a comprehensive educational resource. We plan to expand our subject offerings to support a broader range of academic needs and to partner with schools to bring our expertise directly to students and educators. We also aim to become a trusted and invaluable resource for the home-schooled community, providing tailored support and guidance to meet their unique learning journeys.

Ultimately, we want to change the way private tuition and academic achievement are viewed. We are committed to fostering a belief that students are so much more than the numbers on a piece of paper. To back this vision, we will expand the number of means-tested fee spaces available and work toward offering some spaces completely free. The future of CBC Education is about building a legacy of confidence, inspiring a love of learning, and making a genuine difference in every student's life.
